Attire 2017-18

All hair should be worn neatly pulled back and up off of neck.  Specifically designed dance bras can be purchased if desired.  Dance supplies can be purchased at Bailey Slipper Shop (Main & Transit) as well as Dance 'N Stuff locations.  Please label all dancing shoes with student's name.  If you have any questions, you can speak with your instructor at the time of the first lesson.

 Ballet Classes (All Ages)

Female students are required to wear a black leotard (any style), pink tights and pink "split sole" ballet slippers.  Sheer ballet skirts are optional.  Male students are required to wear black shorts or black tights, a leotard or white T-shirt, dance belt (supporter) and white or black "split sole" ballet slippers.

Dance with Me Classes (Ages 18 months-3 years)

Adults should wear exercise appropriate clothing that provides ease of movement with your choice of barefeet or socks.  Girls should wear a leotard (any color, any style) with your choice of dance shorts or tights and pink ballet slippers.  Boys should wear your choice of shorts or sweat pants, a t-shirt and black ballet slippers or flexible (non-stick) sneaker for inside use only.

Pre-School Classes (Ages 3-4)

Female students are required to wear a leotard (any color, any style) with your choice of shorts or convertible tights.  Male students are required to wear your choice of black shorts, black jazz pants or black sweat pants and a t-shirt. Female students will need to purchase flesh colored "tie tap shoes."  Male students will need to purchase black "oxford" style tap shoes.  We recommend replacing the laces with a piece of elastic for easy dressing.

Kiddie Combo Classes (Ages 5-7)

In addition to the attire listed above under "Pre-School" Classes, Kiddie Combo students will need an inexpensive pair of slippers to wear on their feet for the jazz portion of class. We recommend a pink ballet slipper for females and a black ballet slipper or slip on jazz shoe for males.  Ballet slippers do not need to be "split sole" unless students are also enrolled in a ballet class.

Tap/Jazz/Lyrical/Acro/Modern Classes (Ages 8 & Up)

Female students are required to wear a leotard (any style) with your choice of black shorts, black leggings, black jazz pants and/or convertible tights.  Jazz pants should not be dragging on the floor.  A leotard with a higher neckline is recommended for all acro classes.  (no camisoles or t-shirts will be allowed).  Male students are required to wear your choice of black shorts, leggings or jazz pants, a leotard or t-shirt and a dance belt (supporter). Students registered for an Acro or Modern class will remain barefoot. Lyrical students will be required to wear a flesh colored "lyrical shoe" (a modern half sole) that creates a ballet line without the heel.  Tap and jazz students will be required to wear a slip-on tap and/or jazz shoe (no laces).  Females are required to wear a flesh colored tap/jazz shoe, while male students are required to wear a black shoe.  NOTE: Female competition team members will need to purchase flesh colored "Pedinis" in place of the slip on jazz shoe.

Hip Hop Classes

Students are required to wear "exercise" appropriate dancewear (no buttons, snaps, zippers, etc.).  Clothing should provide ease of movement and not interfere with the dancer's ability to perform or the teacher's ability to see the student's body.  Modesty is appreciated.  Student's will need to purchase black hip hop sneakers available at the dance supply stores.  NOTE:  Level 2-4 competition team members as well as females enrolled in the Wednesday 6:30 and 8:30 hip hop classes will need to purchase black Gia Mia convertible combat boots.
